What is the average lifespan of a vacuum cleaner’s motor?

Ours apparently is 2 years.

Is this early or is this normal?

We had a VERY smelly surprise when we turned on our cleaner to clean before my parents arrive. Yeah, that’s going to be a fun one to explain!

If the machine is emptied regularly and filters cleaned then that reduces the strain on the motor and at a rate of being used once a week a machine can then last 20 years , I know of several that old.and older . But if it is not emptied when full or if filters are not cleaned or if water is sucked up or if the machine is used daily like in a hotel it may last less than a year.
